I know I'm being a pessimist but I can't remember that last time a AAA game developer didn't over-promise features and support only to fail to deliver on any of the promises.
Executive Producer Marty Stratton noted that while a large player-base continues to enjoy the last installment, id Software kind of fell short in reaching out with post-release incentives. That’s not something that id Software is proud of though. Yes, the 2016 Doom remains a success even without content support. However, this is not something that the developer wants to repeat with Doom Eternal.
