NVIDIA On-Stage Demo Teleports Man Into Virtual Vehicle

The on-stage demo virtually shrunk down Justin, our lead engineer for the project — who was present beside the stage — and teleported him into a quarter-scale car inside a tiny simulated city set up in a ballroom upstairs. To make the trip, Justin donned a VR headset and entered a high-def simulation that includes the environment around the car updated by a live feed from the sensors embedded in the vehicle. He was then able to turn the wheel and step on the pedals in front of him to manipulate the car’s drive-by-wire system remotely and caroom around the tiny streets of a tiny city.
