Very close now.... -Steve
CPUfx's contribution just came in, a watercooled 1.4GHz AMD, GeForce3 Powered, Enermax Cased bad ass system, right alongside the kick ass contributions from BestBuy's finest, and rounded up by the 5 Hercules GameTheater XP's... wow. I bet you guys are DYING to start bidding.

More.... -Steve
We are getting closer to being able to assemble the PC's at least partially, waiting for everything is the hardest part out of all of this for sure. UGH!!! I tell you what though, I get the most amazing feeling of pride knowing we are all coming together to help. If you look at that donor list, you will see nothing but FANTASTIC people.

More arrivals -Steve
Well as the items keep pouring in, I get closer and closer to having these auctions ready to go...
Corsair's offering of five sticks of 256mb PC2400 DDR arrived as well as the five wireless keyboards / mice / joysticks from Intel. It's easy to see how much effort everyone is putting into this effort.

Mon 09.24.01 -Steve
As everything comes in I will get things assembled and ready to roll, I am putting together the auction pages as we speak as well. I am HOPEFULLY going to have everything ready by Thursday to start the auction. We are only waiting on shipping ( stuff to get here ). I am ALSO going to leave some systems "unassembled" so that the winning bidder actually has the choice of having us build it or them building it on their own.

Also, Ritual Entertainment, id Software and Raven Software have seriously outdone themselves with their donations of Autographed Games and Memorabilia. If you are a big Quake 3 / Team Arena / Duke Nukem / Star Trek: Elite Forces / Soldier of Fortune / Heavy Metal fans, you will DIE when you see what we have for you to bid on.....

Weekend -Steve
Damn near everything major is done.... I still need a few Hard Drives, and a couple ATX cases. I had attempted to get the cases locally with no luck. I have two, so I am short 3 ATX cases. Still working on everything.... this is coming together fantastically. Remember to shoot me a line
HERE or HERE if you know where I can get the hard drives or cases. Thanks....

Fri 09.21.01 -Steve
I am so proud of all the people that have come together to make this possible. this is an amazing show of support and solidarity among the computer industry, even when we all know the industry has been hit so hard over the last year, I thank everyone, and I know this is one of the greatest things I have ever done, with the help of all of you. The shipments started to arrive today, so the systems will start to be assembled as the parts continue to some in. Here's a look at some of the items so far. AMD 1.4GHz processors, VisionTek Video Cards, Ritual Entertainment Autographed Memorabilia....

Also, there WILL BE SOME DUPLICATE items arriving, and they will be mated with other parts to form smaller packages / combo's to bid on. HUNDREDS of you have expressed the concern that you WANT to participate, but cannot afford a whole system...I am cleaning out every video card, motherboard, processor, soundcard I own and pairing them up ( mobo-processor combos / video and sound combos and individual items )

Thu 09.20.01 -Steve
The first items have started to arrive, we have gotten a fantastic turn out... still no Hard Drives yet, but I everything else is rolling in... I am keeping my fingers crossed on my sound cards too, I haven't heard back from my sound card source, so that could be a possible "need" too. I should have all the items needed by Mon or Tue and then the Auction pages will go live for everyone to bid. I will outline the rules, etc before the auction starts. All Complete Systems will have a minimum bid price set very low...but all the Individual Components will have NO MINIMUM BID, meaning if you bid $10 on an item that no one else bids on ( or bids lower ) you win the bid.

Tue 09.18.01 -Steve
I am still in dire need for 5 CDROM or DVD drives, and 5 Hard Drives. . . that should get at least the construction going with these systems. If you are interested in sponsoring either the DVD/CDROM drives or the Hard Drives...let me know. And again, if you know of a sponsor for any of these, feel free to drop me a line.

Mon 09.17.01 -Steve
I'd like to Welcome and Thank both Overclockers Hideout, ColdCPU and iCompz for being the first companies to sign on as donors for the Disaster Relief Auction. Big slobbery wet kisses are on the way to my friend Levelord for being the cool m0f0 that he is and being the first game designer to respond. It just shows you what great companies / people they are for doing their part in helping us raise money for the WTC Disaster. This will also make some kick ass systems for you guys to bid on. We are also looking at individual hardware as well as other prizes, games, etc. I will update you as I get the news back from the companies / individuals that are participating.  Have a company in mind that you'd like to see donate their products?? Shoot them an e-mail and tell them to donate... . With everything rolling in, I am getting a good feel of the things I will need, shortages right now are Hard Drives and CDROM / DVD drives, So I am on the hunt for those now too, anyone got a line on some, let me know. I am looking at having all 1.4GHz machines or higher...sweet.

Disaster Relief Auction -Steve
In an OVERWHELMING vote of 882 to 1 , I have decided to attempt a
Disaster Relief Auction. With the help of the awesome people and companies that have helped us through donations in the past, I have called on every hardware, software company I know...and many friends for help doing this.

I am attempting to build 5 Top of the Line computer systems completely from Donations and Auction them off for the Disaster Relief Fund , ALL proceeds...every bit will be donated to the WTC Disaster Relief Effort. Hypothermia, and HardOCP will be paying for all the shipping, assembly and incidental costs as well as a system donated by US. Contact your favorite Hardware company or Game Company, and ask them to participate. And an appeal to everyone to help us raise money for the efforts at the WTC. Need more info...contact me HERE.

Review Stuff -Steve
I have updated the reviews page with more reviews...the latest being the Intel 1.2GHz Tualatin CPU. Nice COU, good review if I do say so myself. I've got some more reviewage coming up soon as well... I am kicking around an IDEA that I want your opinion on too...I'll give you more details soon. Check out the reviews page in the mean time.

Day of Prayer -Steve
Along with HardOCP, and the rest of the Nation, we observed a day of Prayer for the victims of the WTC Disaster.

Wed 09.12.01 -Steve
I am not going to start the new "One a Day for a Week" contest until the FAA clears up all flight schedules and after normal shipping may resume. As it sits now, I have a handful of packages that can't go anywhere until everything settles down. Once flights resume, there will be a massive back-up of things trying to be shipped EVERYWHERE. So we will wait all this out.... then the FREE STUFF WILL FLOW AGAIN!!!!

Tue 09.11.01 -Steve
As most of you know, this morning the WTC, the Pentagon and other U.S. sites have fallen victim to terrorist attacks, I want to say from everyone here at Hypothermia and [H]ard|OCP that our hearts and prayers go out to the friends and families of the victims of these attacks. And certainly our prayers for the victims. We have to understand that it's times like these we need to be strong as a country and band together for strength. Keep our thoughts and well wishes focus on our families and friends that are stranded in airports all over the country right now, and hope for their safe return.  Again, our hearts and prayers go out to everyone.

Mon 09.10.01 -Steve
Little late update here.... I am going to start a new One a Day for a Week Contest soon. . . I am getting my bearings and taking a little rest while I am posting the news at HardOCP. I will be spending the next day or two sending out over 25 prizes that have been won over the last 10 days... sheesh. I never thought giving away stuff could be so rough!!!  I should have everything shipped by this Friday.

AAAAHHHHH, what a relaxing weekend... I went on a long ride with family along the coast of Alaska, smoked a few cigars ( a "manly" tradition...even though I don't smoke ) on our "Roadtrip" and basically had a fantastic weekend, totally unplugged... I recommend everyone do the same every now and again...INCLUDING the cigars .
