Design:
VisionTek’s Aerial Bluetooth in-ear earphones feature a sleek design that is both stylish and sporty. The headphones, weighing in at 17 grams, are well constructed and have a very solid feel to them without being excessively heavy or uncomfortable.
These noise-isolating in-ear headphones come with extra soft ear tips and holders that can be mixed and matched for a perfect fit. The headphones comfortably extend into your ear canal without having to push and do a great job sealing out ambient noise. This is possible because, by design, in-ear headphones feature passive noise cancellation due to the fact they literally act as a plug in your ear canal that blocks outside noise. The Aerial BT headphones comes with a 24" cord (from ear to ear) with an with an inline remote/microphone.
What makes in-ear headphones better than earbuds? First of all, anyone that has ever attempted any form of exercise (lifting weights, jogging, yoga, etc.) has had earbuds repeatedly fall out of their ear. Second of all, earbuds are, for the most part, a one-size fits all solution. Finally, as we've already mentioned, earbuds do not block outside noise where in-ear headphones do a great job of isolating ambient noise. Noise isolation shouldn't be confused with active noise cancellation but, not only are noise cancelling in-ear headphones extremely expensive, we believe that the combination of in-ear headphones and active noise cancellation is simply redundant.
Sound Quality:
Sound quality of the the Aerial Bluetooth headphones is great. They delivered clean, well-balanced sound output, free of static or distortion. The sound output is so good, we found it best to set the volume on our device, in this case an iPhone 7 Plus, to just 60% and make fine tuning adjustments via the inline remote.
While we are on the subject, the inline remote is also home to the microphone used for making phone calls. The microphone hangs just a few inches away from your mouth so you do not have to hold the mic close to your mouth when you speak.
Comfort / Fit:
As previously stated, the Aerial BT headphones come with extra sets of soft ear pads and ear tips so a solid fit is virtually guaranteed. We spent hours upon hours using these headphones for work, exercise and relaxation and we can honestly say that, after a while, you don't even realize you are wearing them. If comfort is a high priority, these headphones should definitely be on your short list.
Battery Life:
We were pleasantly surprised to find that we were able to consistently surpass the 5 hour battery rating, some times by as much as an hour. VisionTek includes a micro USB cable for charging which, in our experience, took less than two hours to fully charge the earphones once the headphones were completely drained.
Value:
Although there may be cheaper headphones out there, we can honestly say that you would be hard pressed to find a better set of Bluetooth headphones for the money.
