Many of you here have heard of the recent "NVIDIA strong arm tactics" stories floating around the net, most recently.... mine. If your not up to speed, you can read my full story HERE, and one of many stories HERE, and HERE.

Well, what you are about to read is an interview with Derek Perez, where the only subject is the treatment my site received from NVIDIA over the last 6-7 months, and how it happened. Derek apologizes for the treatment my site received from NVIDIA.

Many of you will leave after reading this with a whole new set of questions, and all I can say is this: Standing up for your rights, no matter how large or small your site is, is TOUGH, and I do mean tough. I also do not recommend taking a stand unless you are completely ready to furnish PROOF. Proof of the allegations you are making.

Because come Hell or Highwater, when you have the necessary proof and documentation, let them send lawyers, let them say what they will, in the end you will have the proof it takes to prove your case.

ON THE BAD SIDE OF TAKING STAND

There is a bad side of standing up for your rights. I am not talking about sites that come out and bash you and say your stupid or retarded... heh.. that's expected. Every person who thinks these things out, knows the criticism is gonna fly.... so let it.

The bad part about standing up for your rights can be the very REAL possibility that you will never again get another piece of hardware from the company in question. Most companies look at each situation on a case to case basis, so any company worth their weight in salt, would never hold a grudge against a website that is simply standing up for their rights. Especially when the website has a legitimate complaint. But sometimes they do.

ON THE REAL BAD SIDE OF TAKING STAND

The real bad part about this and any situation like it, is the negative side effects this causes on NVIDIA based fansites. Now here is a group of hardworking, honest guys just trying to put out the news and info on a product they stand behind and believe in. So when a huge bonehead incident like this happens and all the similar stories like it start hitting the web, the initial brunt of it hits them the hardest....

Wait until one of your friends and fellow webmasters tells you in confidence that "he has lost sleep and a day from work" over this whole ordeal. And the poor guy has never done a damn thing to me or my site. So just because he runs a NVIDIA affiliated site, he is now catching tons of shit from everyone on the planet over a story he has no control over.
We can go into the whole "they knew that when they became a NVIDIA website" but that has nothing to do with the issue of negative effects directly resulting from me taking a stand on my site.

I also want you to know, I have taken it upon myself to personally apologize to these sites, for doing what I had to do.... and each of them understood and wished me well.

So having said all that. . . . let's move on to the interview
