Today's Random Thought

So it's 2004. Where are all the killer attack robots? Flying cars? This year sucks already.

11.28.03:  -Steve
I am going to give the winners ( who have all been notified ) a chance to get home and settled in before shipping off all the winning Gift Certificates. I'll start our next contest very soon. Anyone have a good suggestion for cleaning up cluttered wires? I am using 5 monitors on three computers, two sets of speakers and an Xbox thrown in the mix all networked on ONE desk. UGH... I have tried everything, I need some advice

Thanksgiving:  -Steve
It is the time of year when we should all be reflecting on the things in life we are most thankful for... I am thankful for my friends, my family and especially you guys. I thoroughly enjoy what I do here with Hypothermia and HardOCP and I try to show my thanks to you guys as much as possible through the giveaways I hold here, but it never hurts to just say it...I am thankful to have you guys around. Kinda odd that it has been 4 years and four Thanksgivings together, here is to many more! Have a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving!

11.24.03:  -Steve
Just two days left before we announce the winners of the Gift Certificate giveaway. Someone should be very happy with that whopping $500 one, but the $100 gift certificates are pretty damn sweet too. Get your entries in before the deadline!!

I need to round up a handful of processors for a few upcoming giveaways. It doesn't matter whether they are AMD or Intel processors...I know I have done a lot of Intel stuff here over that last year, but that is largely due to Intel being generous towards the community with sponsorship whereas AMD hasn't been. Anyhow, I am looking to put together a few decent systems to giveaway to you guys and I am in need of processors...so if you know of a good deal somewhere or you know of a sponsor let me know HERE

Gift Certificate a Day:  -Steve
We are opening the Gift Certificate a Day contest today. The way this will work is simple, I have $1,100.00 worth of gift certificates graciously provided by our local BB. I will give away a total of six $100 gift certificates and one big grand prize $500 gift certificate. All the same rules apply, just drop your name in the hat once a day per e-mail address and a winner will be selected each day. All winners will be notified at the end of the seven days, so make sure you enter each day. Good luck!

Everyone thought the "new console spoof" was pretty funny, I guess it just goes to show you that any jackass can make a "new console" in a few hours and try to lay claim to the Console Crown. The scary part is, anyone with a small form factor mainboard and fancy case can run around getting millions of dollars in investors money...there are people out there right now doing this as we speak.

New Console?  -Steve
Can it be? Another person taking a stab at the crowded console market? We have unearthed some top secret photos that appear to be of an "in development" game console. From what we see in these pictures, it is proof positive of a brand new console that is 3x as powerful as anything on the market today! Are these pictures proof of a new console? Or is someone pulling your leg? Check it out:

O.K., we have the last Radeon 9600 contest winners selected...finally! This clears the way for our next giveaway. I think I am going to do the $1,100 in gift certificate giveaway first and then the Star Trek: Elite Force II giveaway next. I have my feelers out trying to get my hands on some autographed games for your guys like Call of Duty, Contract J.A.C.K, Half Life2 and DOOM III

On a side note, you would be astounded at the amount of stuff we give away every year. I have never went back and counted, but we give away thousands and thousands of dollars worth of prizes every year. We hold charity raffles and auctions, we do the Killer Gaming Rig, the One a Day giveaways, free autographed memorabilia, free computers and so on...and the funny part is, I am the unluckiest bastard on the planet. I have never won a single damn thing, ever in my whole life. Isn't that funny? How does that work? Oh well, I got you guys...and that is a big enough prize for me.

Kevin Smith Interview:  -Steve
I have been trying to snag an interview with Kevin Smith for the longest time without much luck. I had the chance to ask Kevin personally for an interview about 18 months ago...and he politely declined. I got the chance again to ask him for an interview...and I struck out again. Damn. I figure if I am persistent he will eventually grant me an interview or get a restraining order. Better move on to Jason Lee.

11.10.03:  -Steve
We actually ended up with two of the Radeon 9600's not claimed...bust ass and get your name in the hat, I want two more winners by Wednesday to clear the path for the next few giveaways I have scheduled, the Star Trek: Elite Force II giveaway, and the $1,100 in gift certificate giveaway. Those should be fun, so hurry to enter and win one of the remaining two Radeon 9600's that have went unclaimed.

11.06.03:  -Steve
After we finish up the Radeon 9600 contest, I have $1,100.00 worth of $100.00 gift certificates for BestBuy. These are sponsored by my friend here at our local BB but can be used anywhere in the country. The way it will work is this, there will be six $100.00 giveaways and one $500.00 giveaway for a total of $1,100.00. Sound cool?

Autographed Halo:  -Steve
The autographed Halo games came in today, a big thanks to Randy Pitchford and the whole gang at Gearbox Software. We will have these shipped out to the winners as soon as possible ( this week ) via FedEx. Until then, here is a sneak peek at one of these bad-mofo one of a kind collectors items:

11.01.03:  -Steve
I have updated
Asia Carrera's Corner, with a bunch of new pics, most have been displayed at some time or another here on the front page. ALL the images you see here belong to both Asia and I and were taken for specifically for Hypothermia and you guys. You will not see them anywhere else...probably because they are all PG-13 pics.
