My daughter and her best friend wanted drive the Camaro before she leaves away to college in a few days so we took them out to a nice open area by the house and let them get busy. Don't ever let anyone tell you that beautiful girls can't drive, these two were doing burnouts like a pro in no time.

Here are a few pictures of prepping the new drag car. After making 8 second qualifying passes last weekend, Dave flushed the cooling system, changed the oil and ended up having to swap out the starter. I'll post some times after everyone hits the track.

So drag race season starts soon. I am not sure how much free time I will have to make it out to the track this year but I will head over to Dave's and check out the new drag car soon (
I'll post pictures).

I have a confession to make. Something most people probably don't know this about me...but I have the voice of a 15 year old kid. I know, I know...
as scary as I look, the sound that comes out of my mouth says "I'm 14 and my parents aren't home". The funny part is when I am playing games online and someone says "how old are you" they usually don't believe me when I tell them 37.

1980's Ponytails & Hucksters -Steve
I had a reader send me a rather angry e-mail because I made fun of Tony Little in my last post when I said "vitamin hucksters with their 1980's ponytails". While I didn't mean to target him specifically, you have to admit that there is some freakish connection between all these vitamin salesmen and 1980s hairdos. Why these people cannot afford a haircut is beyond me.

This person was also quick to point out that I too once had long hair. But my defense to that is that I had a 80s haircut....IN THE 1980s. If I still had that haircut today, please feel free to openly laugh and point fingers (actually, you are free to laugh and point fingers at me any time you like). And finally, I have always worked for a living. I never sold vitamins, Amway, MLM schemes, exercise equipment or made money off the insecurities of other people. I like you just the way you are, no matter what you look like...those other scam artist can't say that, now can they? And to Tony Little, you are a handsome guy...lose the hair bro.

So there is little evidence that vitamins do anyone any good and may do more harm for some people. Just lovely. At least we won't have to put up with all those vitamin selling hucksters with their 1980's ponytails and retarded sales pitches anymore. Anyone taking any bets on what those vitamin selling scam artists are gonna do next? Maybe get a haircut and get a real job ;^)

Let Your Xbox Blog! -Steve
While this might not be the "greatest invention ever", it is pretty damn cool! My Xbox 360 is actually blogging about its daily activity, thoughts and feelings. How can this be? Head on over and find out.  You can submit your Gamertag and get your own Xbox 360 blog! Here is a sample from mine:

Hypothermia's Xbox - 05/04/06
Hypothermia rocked out with 6998 points. He played Oblivion, and after that powered me down without even saying good night. I mean what the hell?

We have a ton of new content over at [H]Console and I want your feedback on our reviews and review process.

Project Gotham Racing 3
Nintendo DS
Burnout: Revenge for the Xbox 360
Sony PSP

We are trying hard to deliver a review experience that we feel is sorely lacking in the industry. I guarantee you that we are NOT like every other review site out there and proud of it. Here are some of the things you will and won't see at [H]Console:

YOU WON'T SEE:  Canned screenshots (bullshots). You won't see hidden areas and boss screenshots that screw up your gaming experience. You will not see one page reviews. You won't see a review with a "number rating" or "letter grades". You won't see wishy-washy opinions, either we recommend it or we don't. You won't see previews or reviews based on unfinished games.

YOU WILL SEE: Only retail games reviewed. All games played through completely by three editors so that our reviews are complete and accurate. Three separate opinions from three different editors. Screenshots of actual in-game game play, no PR screenshots.

Reviews are all about trust. I am asking you to trust my opinion and spend your hard earned money according to that opinion. I think people these days forget that they have an obligation to their readers FIRST and trust is the key to any relationship. So that is it, head on over...check out what we got going over there and let me know what you think!

I may have a lead on a Radeon X1900 All-In-Wonder for the Killer Gaming Rig giveaway. Keep your fingers crossed.

05.11.06 -Steve
For those of you that have asked, yes...all of our "console" giveaways will be done at [H]Console from now on and all of our PC stuff (
Killer Gaming Rig, etc) will still be done here. Coolio?

05.10.06 -Steve
We are giving away another $500 at [H]Console, head over and get your name in the hat to win.

05.08.06 -Steve
No word back on the video card for the next Killer Gaming Rig...bummer. Might need to go a different route. I really did want to go ATi this time around but I can't get any response so I might end up going NVIDIA SLI again. I'll keep working on it.

Let's Talk Comics -Steve
Most of you know by now that I own every single X-Men comic from 1 through 400, all near mint and professionally graded. Although I am not what you would call a "comic collector", I did collect comics as a kid and I lost an almost complete collection of X-men when I was 12 years old. I promised myself back then that one day I would rebuild my collection. Obviously since X-Men #1 is fetching $21,000 in near mint condition it took me a while to rebuild a collection of 400 comics. The grading fees alone per comic is $29 - $49 each...times that by 400 and just grading the comics is a small fortune. Anyhow, after I was done...I swore, that was it. I kept a childhood promise that I made to myself and I was done.

Then something happened. I started collecting number #1 comics. Not complete collections like I have now...just the first edition of other popular Marvel comics. I have a Daredevil #1, Iron Man #1, Avengers #1, Fantastic Four #1, Captain Marvel #1 and so on. When I find higher quality version of the ones I have, I buy the higher grade and sell off my current comics. I am now selling (through a comic dealer) a copy of Daredevil #1, Iron Man #1 and The Avengers #1. This is a 7 day auction starting today...might be a good way for you to get a couple #1 comics, previously owned by ME!

Happy Cinco De Mayo! I am celebrating it by taking tequila to work and spiking the water cooler.

Rick Patterson sent us a GeForce and a Celeron for the school rigs, we have almost everything we need. A big thanks to everyone who has donated parts for this, you guys are awesome. I am having plaques for the PCs made that list the name of the donors on them as a way to say thanks!

05.01.06 -Steve
We just gave away another $500 in BestBuy gift certificates over at [H] Console. Speaking of my alter ego site, we have also published reviews of the Nintendo DS, Project Gotham Racing 3, Burnout Revenge, Indigo Prophecy and our interview with the CEO of GarageGames, Mark Frohnmayer. All really great stuff, check it out...you'll be glad you did.
