Magazine
Rant -Steve
What the hell happened to print magazines? I mean, c'mon....things are
getting way out of hand here. I bought a copy of the Official
Xbox Magazine today, and I noticed that the magazine is
getting skinnier and skinnier. This month, there are less than 100
pages, and about 50% of them are ads. The Magazine is $8.00 so you are
paying about 16 cents a page for content. About ten pages of this months
magazine is dedicated to humiliating people who attend E3...even though
most of their readers are proud to be geeks. I
am the biggest geek that ever lived, and even I took
offense.
This is when I realized the Editor
In Chief of this magazine, was at the helm of a few other
magazines and websites ( Ultra Game Players, PCXL, Next Gen, Daily Radar
) that all went under. He's like the kiss of death for magazines, cause
let's face it, if he ran a wildly popular and profitable magazine, they
wouldn't shut it down...would they? Oh well, what can you do? The
answer is nothing.

I suppose the
thought of beautiful women and rock music is a bad thing for those
freakish kinda guys named "Ed" that still live in their Mom's
basement, but for the
rest of us normal people...we love beautiful women. We like to talk to
them, look at them, hang out with them...and yes, even be friends with
them *GASP*. Matter o' fact, one of the
greatest things about Hypothermia is our number one fan, the
"Goddess of Geek", Asia
Carrera....who coincidentally, happens to be a
beautiful woman. Life is good.

Speaking of Asia and this
whole subject of beautiful women, we thought
you guys would like to see these pictures of Asia hiking around her new
house. Amazing how good Asia can make mother nature look. Mmmmm....makes
you want to go hiking, now doesn't it?

Update -Steve
Here is a picture of the Xbox version of the Enter The Matrix game from
Atari and Shiny. I am feverishly working a deal to get some autographed versions
for both PC and Xbox for you guys. Keep your fingers crossed.

05.20.03 -Steve
The people at Atari were kind enough to pledge a handful of copies of Enter
The Matrix for both PC and Xbox to give away to you guys. I
am working on getting the gang at Shiny to autograph up a few copies as
well. I will do a "One a Day" contest in the next few days to
give these away.

Congrats to our Autographed
Unreal II winners. Allen Lee and TC Garret were the
two lucky bastards to win these awesome collectors items. I will leave
the contest link active on the contest page until both winners claim
their prizes. As always, if the prizes are not claimed, we will pick a
new winner. Congrats fellas!!
Black Cube -Steve
I have recently thrown together a small system for our kitchen counter
so we can access the web and such from the kitchen. I used one of the
new small form factor PC's and then painted the aluminum under the
plexiglas cover for a very nice effect. I like this small box so well, I
am thinking about doing a giveaway based around this chassis. Let me
know what you think.

05.05.03 -Steve
Now that we are back on track, how about kicking things off with an Autographed
Unreal 2 giveaway? Aaron Leiby, Scott Dalton and the gang at
Legend Entertainment have graciously autographed up a few copies of
Unreal 2 for you guys. How is that for cool? I have included a couple
higher resolution pictures of the Unreal 2 boxes for you too take a look
at before you enter. This giveaway will go until the 12th so everyone
will have a chance to enter.

Now that the madness of the auction is over, we need to get back to
normal around here...contest, interviews and all that stuff.
