The Sony Car Audio
giveaway comes to a close Monday. I have to say I was pleasantly
surprised by the turn out. It looks like you guys are interested in some

There will be TWO systems up for grabs this time in a charity benefit designed to give people more of a chance to walk away with something for their donation. There will only be 500 spots open to make your odds good for snagging one of these systems or the

cards and 25 special prizes. For each donation of $5, payable through PayPal
(so that everyone can participate) you make, you will have one of the 500 spots in the donation drive to win the computer.

This is the first time we have ever given away anything NON computer /
gaming here at Hypothermia. This is a joint experiment with my local BB
and I to see if there is interest in non-computer related stuff. If
there is low turn out then we will know that you guys aren't interested.
Our latest giveaway is for a complete Xplod car audio system made by
Sony. You get a Sony CDX-M800 CD receiver, four Sony
6.5" XS-V1633 speakers, two Sony 6x9 XS-V6940H

We have an EXPERIMENTAL
contest starting this week. We have teamed up with our local Best Buy
on a few occasions for giveaway and contest sponsorship...but it has
always been computer / gaming related stuff in the past. We are going to
try something different out this week...if it turns out to be popular,
we will do it more in the future, if not...obviously we won't. Anyone
looking at the contest page will
get a glimpse of what we are giving away...and maybe sneak an early bird
entry into the contest...I promise I won't tell anyone.

For all of you who asked, or next charity donation computer raffle will
be in 7 days. We are giving more people a chance to win, by having two
computers up for grabs and a host of other prizes including 8 video
cards (not 10 as we thought this
weekend) and limiting the charity
drive to only 500 spots total. Be ready, these generally go fast and do
not last more than a day. You know these are popular when the
number #1 search result on Google for "Charity
Giveaways" is Hypothermia. This will be the last one of
the year except for maybe one during the Holidays at the end of the
year.

O.K., we have all the server "issues" taken care of and
Hypothermia no longer redirects you to HardOCP. I got a ton of mail from
you guys when it happened and had initially planned to say it was a
"HardOCP hostile takeover" just to be funny but
there was just so much mail I couldn't respond to everyone. So rest
assured, we are back up and on track. I was also surprised to find out
that a bunch of people that have been coming here for 3 - 4 years never
realized I am the same Steve from HardOCP!

It looks like we might end up just drawing people's names at random for
the Ask Asia prizes instead of giving a prize to people if their
question is selected. Why? Because so far out of a total of almost 1,000
questions submitted... all the questions submitted have all been asked
by someone else, in many cases...over and over. So, we'll more than
likely just throw everyone's name in a hat for each question they
submitted and then draw 20 people at random to be fair. Want to ask a
