Let's get something out of the
way, then I'll tell you something. When it comes
to games, I am a first person shooter kinda guy. I like a good racing
game and such as long as there is hella action too. Real Time Strategy
games are not my cup of tea...I just can't get into them.
Having said that, I got my hands on a bunch of copies of Star
Wars: KOTOR so I decided to try it out. Talk about a blast.
I don't have the time to sit down and play it like it should be played (
hours on end )...but it i really fun the little time I have played it. I
like the fact that your character can go to the "Dark Side"
and their outward appearance reflects that change. No one in the game
world seems to realize my character has pegged the Force meter
into the the Red ( evil ) and I look the part. This Penny
Arcade comic hits the nail on the head...check it out.

Just so you know....Lara
Croft, Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life the
movie....sucked. I expected it to be good and at least have
"action"...it didn't, it was boring. I feel it is my duty to
warn you.
Contest
Winners -Steve
I have contacted all the winners of the five 520W
Vantec PSUs, but....as always, the contests will remain open until all
the prizes are claimed in case someone doesn't claim their prize. We are
going to do some more video cards in our next contest, I think, but I
also have the awesome Xbox hook up and I might get my hands on a bunch
of games again for a giveaway first. Star Wars: Knights of the Old
Republic is a strong possibility.
Domain
Squatters -Steve
Does anyone have any info pertaining to companies or individuals that
squat on domains? This is the deal. I started Hypothermia at the end of
1999, at that time...both Hypothermia.com and Hypothermia.net
were taken, but there was nothing but a "coming soon"
placeholder for both sites. Here it is 4 years later, neither company
has ever put up a site but they continue to camp on these domains.
If you search Google for
"Hypothermia" for the last 3 years the NUMBER ONE ( sometimes
number two ) result is THIS
site...not Hypothermia the medical condition, but little ol' me. We have
gotten so popular that we even surpass the medical condition when
searching Google...but I can't get the domain name because someone is
camping on them. For over three years they have squatted on these
domains. I want either of these domain and I don't think it is
fair to just squat on a so that no one else can have them. Anyhow....if
anyone has some advice, please
feel free to drop me a line.

In the last 4 years, we have given away hundreds
and hundreds of prizes ( scroll
through them all ), we have made

the blind. I look back on all of it sometimes even I am floored
by it all...but I can tell you this, I love doing it. I love being able
to get some of the best stuff on the planet for you guys and bring a
smile to as many people as I can with these giveaways.

having said that...let's get
the next giveaway under way, shall we? Enter to win one of five 520W

Asia is back from Europe and wanted me to pass these pictures on to you
guys. Although Asia sure looks the part, she is not a motorcycle aficionado
and simply likes to dress the part. You will have to admit, she looks
very, very good in her biker wear. Now, you wanna talk uber-fast
Corvettes? Asia is all over that...she just isn't a bike person as these
pictures may imply.

The funniest part? take a
look at the helmet and its little "kitty ears and tail". Awww,
how cute. And for those of you who might think Asia is always in
"fashion model" mode...even the mighty Goddess of Geek cracks
up laughing trying to be "sexy".

After being thrilled with Return To Castle Wolfenstein for the
Xbox and admiring the great job they did of porting it to the Xbox, I
was equally excited when they announced Soldier of Fortune II for the
Xbox. I did what all good people should do, read a few previews and a
few reviews, and then pre-ordered myself a copy. Well, it arrived the
other day, I played it.....and it sucked the nuts. See
some screenshots here.

Normally I get a lot of e-mail...not just the herbalviagrameetchristiansinglesgetrefinancedpenisenlargement
kind either...although I do get a lot of that too. I get about
200 - 300 legitimate e-mail a day on any given day, not counting spam.
I got a special surprise
from YOU GUYS when I woke up...almost 400 "Get
Well" e-mails. Kinda nice to have all you guys wish me well, so I
thought it would sit down and reply to all your e-mail, one by one, to
say "Thanks". You guys really do kick ass, and I
sincerely appreciate the well wishes.
OUCH!!!

Do not click on this picture if you do not want to see something really
gross. I have gotten hundreds of e-mail asking about my leg. This is a
picture of my right shin two days after the accident. The bruising and
swelling went down fairly quick so I thought I was O.K. it just hurt (
as expected ) a lot.

But after 10 days, the
hurting hasn't stopped so I think I have serious problems developing
that need to get looked at. I'll keep you updated.

I have an handful of really cool stuff lined up for you guys...so be
prepared. My leg is still really screwed up from the car accident, so I
haven't been able to update as much as I like. I feel mucho better-o so
I should have my next contest up soon and some more interview action as
well. Don't touch that dial.

All ten winners for the 2.4GHz Celeron contest have been selected and
processors shipped. I may hold off on my next contest for a week or so,
I was in a car accident and my wife's car is totaled. I will need time
to get insurance stuff taken care of, work on the site and do my regular
[H] duties...BUT I will definitely try to bust ass and get something
together for you guys. I might post pictures of the car and my leg
later....I know how you guys love a good gross out .

You know, if you are a person that likes multiplayer games, you are
currently getting hosed by the game industry if you own
more than one PC or Xbox. The situation is far worse for console owners
though. Here is the scenario: Let's just say you are like me and you own
several Xbox consoles, and you want to have a little LAN action with
Halo, Unreal Championship, Mech Assault, Wolfenstein...etc. you
currently must buy TWO copies of the $49.99 game to play via system
link.

Oddly enough, my 8yr old son
says..."Dad, how come we can't just buy
a $10 CD that has only the multiplayer part on it for people like us
that have more than one Xbox...or people that just like to play the
multiplayer part but never play the full version of the game??".
Good question...PC Games used to be that way. I have no idea why console
makers don't do that. We currently have 50 Xbox games and four Xbox
consoles...I think a cheaper multiplayer CD is a great idea...anyone
else like this idea?
