Projects -Steve
I like sharing my goofy little projects with you guys, hopefully it will spawn a few ideas or help somone out who might be having the same issues or problems I had. I took a speaker off of a crusty old Sanyo boombox that was used out in the garage, and converted it to an external radiator shroud / housing that matched my black Lian Li case. The fan is an A/C 120 fan so that the whole unit is independent.

Two days left to get in on the $100 a day from CompUSA contest. This will bring up the Nintendo Street Team interviews and corresponding giveaways. I will know more soon on what we will have for giveaways, but we are looking at GameCubes and ( maybe ) Games. Very nice. I am mapping out a modded GameCube project too, it will definitely be a one of a kind, awesome mod...comparable to the World First ( and only ) Water Cooled Xbox we did here some time ago. I also am working on some more autographed games for a giveaway for you guys too...heh, who loves ya guys?!?! Me.

New "A-Day Contest" -Steve
O.K. your friend and mine,
CompUSA, has decided to sponsor a little contest action on Hypothermia to show some support to the community ( you guys ). This week I have seven $100.00 Gift Certificates that can be used at any CompUSA location nation wide for anything your heart desires. Pretty slick now ain't it?? I know there are a lot of the "Computer Super Stores" out there vying for your hard earned dollar, but CompUSA has just moved up a notch or two in my eyes for sponsoring this contest. I know how you guys like free stuff, and the companies who support these contests. . . so maybe we'll see a little support from other companies like Software Etc. / Babbages or maybe Circuit City and Fry's. I'd even be tickled to see some online retailers like NewEgg.com get involved....if you guys know anyone at these stores, send them my direction.

ENTER HERE!!

For everyone asking about the 21" Monitor I am supposed to have, it's coming. . . I am still waiting on the unit, but it is coming. I get so busy sometimes I can't get back to everyone on time and keep track of this stuff. Let me find out what the status of the monitor is and then I will update you guys on the review. So hold off on all the mail until I hear something back...SHEESH you guys !!

Celebrity Update -Steve
I am growing a decent list of celebrities that visit Hypothermia regularly which is hella coo. So I was talking with Asia about an article in which Shaquille O'Neal happened to mention he watches her movies, a quick check with the office of Perry Rogers, his agent and sure enough Shaq is a fan of ours. SWEET.

So I thought it might be a good idea to get something autographed and use it for a giveaway to you guys. You know, like maybe this big fat monsta size 22 basketball shoe, personally autographed. I'm not sure if I'll be able to part with the shoe, but something along those lines.

Nintendo Street Team interviews are coming up, we have 3 GameCubes and some games to give away during the Nintendo interviews...great stuff. I am working on doing more than one Street Team interview since everyone has expressed such a big interest in this. And YES, I know..."It's about time I started doing Nintendo contests"....whew...I have gotten a ton of "Took you long enough..." mail over the last week since I announced the Street Team interviews.

I also have two left over motherboards from the last contest, so I will see if I can't turn those into Combo Packages by smacking a processor / memory in them and have a separate giveaway for those.

07.18.02 -Steve
Going to pick the winners from the latest "A Day Contest" and notify everyone, be checking your in-boxes!!! If it is from Hypothermia...don't trash it!! On a very cool related note, I have been talking with the Nintendo reps about not only helping out with this upcoming interview prizes, but establishing a relationship to bring you guys more Nintendo related content. So for everyone who has bugged me for years to start getting more Nintendo coverage rolling...your wish has been granted. Hey...maybe a I'll do a super cool mod on a GameCube...mmmm, sweet.

Fun Stuff -Steve
I have an interview with one of the Nintendo Street Team coming up, it will be fun to pick her brain about what it's like to get $100 a day for playing games....I also scored 3 Nintendo Game Cubes to go along with the interview, sort of a bonus from Nintendo...score. I also have the case in for the Killer Gaming Rig 7. If you want to see one of the coolest things on the planet...then check out this case from
ClearView Technologies. The case glows under fluorescent lighting but the ADDED bonus is the way it glows just sitting in normal light. I took a picture of the case sitting on the kitchen counter with no flash....check it out.

Asia Update -Steve
Asia sends her love from sunny and warm ( heh...o.k., cloudy and rainy, but we can pretend can't we? ) England. Hypothermia's Goddess of Geek is abroad for a few weeks and she sent this pic for you guys. Heh... Asia abroad...get it? Asia, A Broad....nevermind. At least I didn't do a "Asia Stoned" joke.

At least I didn't do a "Asia Stoned" joke.

CPU Magazine -Steve
I have always been a big MaximumPC reader, but I like to expand my horizons etc. so I tried out a newer magazine called CPU ( Computer Power User ) and magazine aimed straight at the enthusiast and overclocker crowd. I was more than a little flattered when I was asked to write a 7 page watercooling article for them a few months ago. If you want to check out a FREE ISSUE of CPU Magazine, hit this link and sign up for a free trial of the magazine, you get monthly columns from the best of the best in the computer industry, as well as some really cool articles done by people throughout the community...like me.

It has begun!!! I picked a few random readers for our Mouse Bungee giveaway to wrap that up, and I have officially kicked off the
Mobo-A-Day giveaway!!!. The last time I did a motherboard a day contest was back when we gave away seven ABIT motherboards. This time around, we have a bunch of boards to choose from on a "first win - first choice" basis. Next contest will be for the seven $100.00 gift certificates from CompUSA. Cool stuff...easy to win.

GET IN IT TO WIN IT!!!!

07.06.02 -Steve
Getting ready to roll out the motherboard contest starting Tuesday, And remember... I have some monitor review action coming up the fine folks at Monitors Direct...let me know what you think of this bad ass unit here, it is your input that counts. I have notified all of the Mouse Bungee winners, but I still have a few unclaimed packages...so check your mail box to see if you are a winner, and if not...keep entering, I'll chose new winners when I start the new contest. CompUSA has also graciously decided to sponsor an upcoming "One A Day Contest" by donating seven $100.00 gift certificates that can be used at ANY CompUSA location. How is that for cool...a $100.00 a day from CompUSA ( hey...that rhymes ) .
