Today's Random Thought

Whose CRUEL idea was it for the word "LISP" to have an "S" in it??

If you guys are looking for some good reading this month, you might want to check out PC Modder Magazine made by the fine folks at Sandhills Publishing ( the force behind CPU Magazine, Smart Computing and so on ). I have four articles in this months edition that cover everything from water cooling to small form factor PCs. It is somewhat odd to see your work in a print magazine, even though I have written for many magazines, I still never get used to seeing my name in print. I'm such a goober that I started framing the magazines that I write in / for.

Over the last 2 or 3 years I have become the person that people are turning to for help for charitable causes. I like doing the raffles, much like the RIAA Raffle, the Raffle for the Blind or the Auction for the Victims of 9-11 we did here, but I don't want to burn you guys out on that kind of stuff either. SO, I thought I would do them no more than 1 or 2 times a year, maximum. If you guys want more raffle stuff, feel free to let me know....but for now, I think I will keep it to a minimum so that the causes we ( you and I ) do decide to support are worthwhile. Sound like a plan?

Next Contest:  -Steve
I have a few ideas for my next giveaway...I am leaning towards a complete console gaming package again. I have the sponsors lined up for that, so that could very well be what I end up doing. Not sure yet. I am thinking about a Xbox, controllers, games, black 17" LCD display, X2VGA Hi-Def adapter and speaker / subwoofer combo...you know, like an ultimate gaming package. I'll let you know in a day or so.

Our buddies at Troy's Bucket have whipped up a little fan art that is hilarious!! What makes this so funny is that it is dead on...all the way down to my cigar! Now that is good. Here is a peek at it, I will upload a high-res version later for you guys to have some fun with.

We have an awesome custom water cooled case from the gang at Voyeur Mods for the Killer Gaming Rig #10. This thing is sweet, a complete DangerDen water cooling kit,  the set up looks almost like this Water Cooled Verge 1/2" system at VM. I'll have some decent pictures taken soon, for now... this one will have to do:

I am kicking off the 2.6GHz P4 "C" Processor a Day giveaway today. A big Thanks goes out to the fellas at our local CompUSA for their continued sponsorship which makes many of these "one a day" contests possible. I have a total of five 800MHz front side bus 2.6GHz Pentium 4 CPU's up for grabs. Drop your name in the hat once a day and see if you can't win yourself a new processor before Jan. 14th. Don't forget to enter the Killer Gaming Rig #10 daily as well.

Our local CompUSA is a big sponsor of our frequent "One a Day for a Week" contests. I just wanted to point out that our new "One a Day" contest coming up this week featuring five 2.60GHz 800MHz FSB Pentium4 processors graciously donated by the CompUSA gang had nothing to do with Hypothermia's biggest supporter, Ms. Asia Carrera, shopping at CompUSA

It's just a mutual geek admiration thingy...The Goddess of Geek is a huge computer nerd and the fellas at CompUSA *ahem* admire Asia.

Goddess of Geek:  -Steve
What are friends for? Asia Carrera, AKA the Goddess of Geek, does a lot of stuff around here to help boost my "cool factor" and make me seem way cooler than I actually am. After all, it isn't every day that you can brag about having someone as awesome as Asia wearing your clothes.
