HOLY COW!! -Steve
Wow, I have been literally been crushed with Xbox offers for
hardware...I mean literally. I have done very well so far and gotten rid
of most of the stuff I had on hand...BUT, I STILL NEED TWO MORE
XBOX CONSOLES to get started on my project. Here is the deal, I
have a complete system AthlonXP 1800+,
ASUS A7V333, 512mb Corsair DDR, GeForce4
Ti4600, 48x ASUS CDRW, 40gb ATA100
hard drive, and complete Top Of The Line
water cooled case with CPU / Video cooling to trade for
the last two Xbox ( 2 ) consoles I need.
(
*UPDATE*: 213 people have contacted me in 3 hours with offers for the
system, I am going through them in the order they are received to be
fair. )
ATTENTION
EVERYONE -Steve
I need a few more Xbox consoles for a project I want to do...but I ain't
shelling out the cashola for them ( I have a few already ). So I have
decided that anyone that is looking for some PC hardware right now...
whether it be a mainboard, memory or whatever. You could save a ton of
money by getting a new Xbox and trading it to me for an ass kicking deal
on hardware they wanted...what a concept!!! Let
me know here if you are interested.
GameCube Mod
-Steve
I am almost done with my GameCube
water cooling mod, I will have that for everyone soon. It seems
there is a ton of interest in doing these types of mods since basically
no one else has done them. The original Xbox
water cooling mod we did here a year ago is STILL the only one on
the planet. Amazing....
EXOS

Overclocking
Project -Steve
We have the final results of our overclocking project online, and I can
honestly say it was a blast getting to 4.44GHz using a system that was
not only water cooled, but used two VapoChill cooling units in one case.
It has to be seen to be believed.
Pentium4
@ 4.44GHz
01.24.03 -Steve
Here is one you guys will get a kick out of. We took a 3.06GHz HT CPU
and decided to see how far we could get it to go and still be stable,
usable in an every day situation. Well we hit a rock solid 4.2GHz, but
through a freak mishap, we ended up with a dead CPU. So I wrote
a little story about what happened. We have a new CPU and
are well on our way to EXCEEDING the 4.2GHz speed by a loooonngg shot.
You can see the dead CPU below.

01.21.03 -Steve
Next on the block will be a complete kit from Danger
Den. Very, very nice looking stuff, as well a functional. The
kit can be used on both AMD and Intel systems...and will look really
nice with a hard drive that has been modded with a plexiglas top,
dontcha think?

Contest
Update -Steve
Gee...imagine that, the water cooling kit giveaways are extremely
popular. We have some really nice kits in store for you guys too. The
latest and greatest from Danger Den and Swiftech are coming up...not
sure which kit to give away next, I'll probably decided over the next
day or so.
KGR 9 Info -Steve
The Killer Gaming Rig 9 will be kicking off soon, and we want your
opinion on this Hitachi 17" LCD. Take a look at the specs on this
monitor and let me know what you think.

While I am on the subject of
Monitors, Monitors
Direct is offering this very same monitor for $575.00, with FREE
shipping, not only that...they are knocking off an extra $20.00
for all Hypothermia readers by simply adding steve
into the promotional code box. Sweet.
CNN
Interview -Steve
I mirrored my CNN interview here for those of you who have asked about
it ( over and over
). My buddy, Daniel Sieberg, is a Technology Correspondent for CNN...you
know, the guy that gets to play with all the cool crap that we wish we
had. Dammit...I want that job!! Waitaminute, I already have that
job, never mind. Check out the interview here.

1st H20
Contest -Steve
We will kick off the first of at least 5 separate
water cooling kit giveaways. The first contest is courtesy of the fine
folks at Koolance.
For more information on this stand alone cooling solution, you can read my
review here. This is an external cooling solution that can
be transferred easily from one system to another, very impressive, very
effective and a great prize for our first H20 giveaway.

01.09.03 -Steve
I want you guys to help me out by selecting what you want to see in our
next "One a Day" giveaway. I have made a list of things like
processors, hard drives and video cards for you to choose from. You pick
it and I'll get it. Easy enough, just HIT
THE LINK and click on
your choice ( or choices ).
Contest
Stuff -Steve
I am going to be actively looking for more sponsors for upcoming Killer
Gaming Rig Contests and Giveaways, I need a handful of stuff to get my
next Killer Gaming Rig going. Surprisingly enough, getting the big items
like CPU, mainboard and memory are fairly easy...it is the small stuff
like keyboards / mice / DVD / Hard drives that is difficult. Maybe a
sponsor for just those items might be the way to go. I am going to open
a poll again to let you guys decide what you want to see in our next
"One a Day" contest.
New Contests
-Steve
I have several very nice complete watercooling kits to give away in
separate contests. I will feature a different watercooling kit in each
giveaway. Kits will be from great manufacturers whom have supported the
community time and again with great products and really cool stuff for
you guys to win over the last 3 years. Kits from Danger
Den, Innovatek,
Koolance, Overclockers
Hideout and Swiftech
will be the first to be featured with more to come later. Check my
reviews page for links to reviews of some of these awesome products. I
have 4 more Xbox Live! kits
to be handed out before that contest ends...again, a BIG
thanks to the guys at Microsoft
for the serious hook up of 21 total Xbox Live! kits.
01.01.03 -Steve
Spending a lot of time ( it takes me forever to do anything! )
straightening up this DISASTER
AREA I call the underground bunker. We are making room for
incoming contest stuff, and getting ready for some really big contests
to start the year off right by getting rid of some of the stuff we have
packed in here. Hey, the best way to help me keep this place organized
is by making sure I give it away as fast as it comes in! My New Years
resolution is to give away more stuff than I did last year!!!
