Super Girl 

If I've ever met anyone who should be wearing a cape. . . . it would definately be this individual. I have been a fan for quite sometime, and after reading this. . I am sure the lovely Super Girl will be one of your favorite people too. . . .

1.) How'd you get started in the WebMastering Game and/or who was your inspiration.

Well coming from a full family lineage of computer scientists and Engineers, I started using the ‘World Wide Web’ about 6 years ago. My mother (computer scientist) started writing some HTML code and I watched her and gained understanding in the mark up language; I was 15 at the time and helped her with graphics and simple HTML coding. This is prior to anything like FrontPage so it was all done the old fashion way in notepad. About a year and a half ago I joined my clan and took Web Page responsibilities; this you could call the beginning of my game related web mastering. It began as a simple page that later turned into something I liked, which is still the current clan site. In mid December of 1999 I started my skin site, which was a way to publish work I had done in a way that pleased me. I wanted a simple site with easy access; I also wanted to express my personal feelings during different stages of skinning development.

2.) What's the most outrageous thing you ever did ON your site?

Because the skin site is basically only informational the only outrageous topics have been some of the skins themselves. However, the clan site has had more interesting topics such as the sexiest guy at quakecon and my accidental ass incident at a certain famous software company.

3.) People you admire in the industry. (Please limit your answer to 2 people and EXCLUDE me, thats a given.)

Apart from you (you goober) I would have to say I admire Tycho Brahe and Loonyboi. I enjoy regular news sites, but these 2 just don’t do the regular informative blah. Tycho is hilarious, his comics are right on and his art is kick ass, the penny arcade wins my vote. Loonyboi is all kinds of cool; he has an informative site, which gets away from the everyday, with insightful interviews and a friendly format.

 

4.) What's the most annoying thing to deal with as a WebMistress? ( hehee, I like the sound of that . . . )

I enjoy being a ‘WebMistress’ and most of the time it’s a charm. The annoying moments come when you are tired and you know you need to make an update to the site.

5.) Does your Boyfriend still nag you to "Get off that damn computer before I break it" now that your a famous WebMistress.

‘famous?’ well I wont dispute that if you want to believe it :-] He sometimes asks me to get off the computer, only so we can hold a conversation with out hearing a keyboard clicking away. This was a classic case of role reversal, he was always on his computer and I would nag him to get off. But he is great, he understands that this is what I enjoy doing so he doesn’t nag that bad or that often.

6.) Tips you can give WebMistress' in training . . ..

Simple is usually better.

People out there still have modems so don’t clutter the page with to many animated gifs and huge picture files.

10.) Where did you get this idea for your Nickname???? Do you wear a Cape under your

Casual clothes . . .(in case of emergency).

Ok I get a lot of crap for my nickname. I get the ‘how original’ line all the time. When Luke (my boyfriend) and I started dating he called me that (not for a handle, just as a compliment.) That is why I have that for a nickname. And now that I think about it, the nickname itself is easy to remember and most people that are close to me just call me ‘Super’ or ‘SG’

A cape, well I don’t' know sometimes I feel like I really do fit my nickname. Working a Job (www.ericsson.com), going to school (www.utdallas.edu), handling 2 MOD groups (www.halflife.net/opera & www.artemissoftware.com) as well as free time skinning (www.davalkyries.com/sgq3) not to mention leading my clan (www.davalkyries.com/vifem ) and having a good relationship with my darling, you could say a cape comes in handy! So yes I guess you could say I have a cape, it’s just under my shirt.

If you could do or say anything to the in the Web Community and NOT be held accountable for it, it would be . . .

Well actually what I am about to say I do wish to be held accountable for it. I have basic rules to live by. Be good and better yourself. When I see bright individuals taking initiative and working for what they are earning it makes me proud and happy. It lets me know the world in not failing. I think it incredibly important that we are admired and recognized for our brains and our hearts. It saddens me to see smart girls with plenty of opportunity and a good life ahead of themselves waste themselves on street corners. I have nothing against pornography and prostitution if it is handled correctly. I know that I would never do either of the above to gain anything. I also know I would never pose naked to gain notoriety for myself, or my products. I hope to god that my products are good enough to sell them selves with out selling a piece of myself to go with it. I pride myself on hard work and dedication. I also would never want to answer to my children why there are nude pictures of mommy on the Internet for everyone to see! Nudity is beautiful but it should be shared between you and your lover.

Interviews are such a cool thing, but so much better when the "subject" is as cool ( well, she's a cutie too. . . . ) and intersting as Super Girl. I want to Thank SG for such a great interview. You give all of us guys that carry around a roll of tape. . a little hope!!!! I can hear the story now. . . .
