Q3Centers very own BigDog
Before and After
1.) How'd you
get started in the WebMastering Game and/or who was your inspiration.
It all started with Ben’s DooM Page back in ’95,
complete with fully centered content, default fonts, and animated gifs. I
was into Doom and the whole mapping and editing scene, id Software became
my main interest, and my inspiration. So I’ve followed everything
they’ve done since Doom.
2.) What's the most outrageous thing
you ever did ON your site.
I guess that would be letting one of my staff
publish an article that was incredibly controlversial and, well, wrong. It
blamed the gaming companies for acts of violence in schools basically. I
really caught some Hell for that. Then there was putting up my fakie
overclocking guides which helped you overclock stuff like mousepads,
monitors, and printers. That was a trip.
3.) People you admire in the
industry. ( please limit your answer to 2 people and EXCLUDE me, thats a
given. . )
Billy "Wicked" Wilson from VoodooExtreme, he rules. I think VE
is by far the best news site on the web and he makes it work. He’s also
pretty damned funny.
Also you’ve gotta love Lowtax. He used to be content director at
PlanetQuake (and was wrongfully let go in my opinion), and is now running
Something Awful, a site that if it went offline I would have withdrawals.
4.) What's the most annoying thing
to deal with as a WebStud.
If I ever meet a WebStud I’ll let you know. But
one thing that is annoying as a site manager is teaching staff newbies the
system. When Q3Center went through a big "Hiring stage" we got
about ten new people on staff. I had to teach every one of them our
intranet system and the rest of the stuff accompanied with working at Q3C.
It sucked.
5.) Does your nick-name get you the
hotties. . . . or is that where you got the nick??
I think "Bigdog" is, well, your typical
adrenaline/testosterone induced nickname. Basically it serves the purpose
of proving some people’s points that Quake players are idiots. Grunt,
Grunt, Argh!!!
6.) Tips you can give Web-Jedi in
training
Don’t smoke crack. The rest of my tips are
secrets.
7.) Drink of Choice
Wow, this question actually made me think the most
out of all of them. I’d have to say Mountain Dew for taste only,
Firewater for getting fux0red up, and Hooch for a mix of both.
8.) Tunes of Choice
Live, Creed, Pearl Jam, Deftones (when in
"that" mood), Limp Bizkit, KoRn, Third Eye Blind, Smashing
Pumpkins, and some rap.
9.) Babe of Choice
Erin. You don’t know her
10.) Vehicle of Choice
BMW, any model.
and the bonus question
If you had to choose between answer
no. #9 and number #10. . . . who's gonna win and why!?!?!?!?!
#9 because I already have her. Tangibles vs. Intangibles there I guess. If
I had a straight out choice I’d still pick #9 though.
Thanks BigDog, I really appreciate the
time. . . . Keep up the good work over there at Q3Center, speaking of
Q3Center, if ya haven't been there. . it don't get any easier than this,
