We have the preliminary list of goodies for the donation drive set and
with that we have a HUGE surprise for all of you. We have secured a Shuttle
XPC AMD64 4000+ machine from Best Buy for the donation
drive. We also got our grubby little mitts on four GeForce
6800GTs from CompUSA. But the icing on the cake for this
donation drive is this:

A Penny
Arcade Limited Edition CTS 12" x 18" Cel, matted
and ready to frame. These are sold out everywhere but the guys at Penny
Arcade stepped up HUGE on this one and gave us his personal copy to make sure that we had one of
these awesome prints to give away in the donation drive. The
donation drive will be open on FRIDAY SEPT 2nd !!

With the recent events of Hurricane
Katrina, I think I will move our donation drive up by a week
and donate the proceeds to victims of the disaster. I need to get busy
getting this all together, but I will have the drive open no later than
next Friday so we can get the help to the people that will need it the
most.

everyone who won and a big thanks to our local Best
Buy for the continued support!
Donation
Drive Stuff: -Steve
There are only two donation drives left this year. One is about a month
away, I am thinking of doing a drive in the middle of September and the
final one will be at Christmas time to benefit Child's Play to keep
these things spaced out far enough so that you guys don't get burned out
on this stuff.
ALSO....I
plan on doing a year end giveaway that is ONLY for people who have
participated in donation drives. I will do a nice computer system and a
bunch of smaller stuff (video cards, processors, memory...etc.) but it
will only be open to people that have donated. I have everyone's
information...it will just be a nice way to say "Thanks" to
all the people who make these drives such a success. If you have
participated before and your e-mail address has changed since then,
please let me know.

If you have never had a couple thousand people sing "Happy
Birthday" to you before, I highly recommend it. I was so bummed
about not being able to attend our annual [H]ardware workshop at
QuakeCon this year until I saw this
video of everyone singing Happy Birthday to me....cheered me
right up. Hell, it damn near brought a tear to my eye...(O.K.
I cried a little):

ACK!!! How do you guys remember stuff like my birthday? Every year you
guys send me well wishes and every year I am as surprised as the last
that anyone even remembers it! As always, much thanks to everyone who
sent birthday wishes! 3 more years before the big 4 - 0.
Yikes!

I have had a few people saying my website is blocked by their work place
because of my good friend Asia Carrera happens to be a famous porn star.
If your workplace blocks Hypothermia, make sure you point out that
all the pictures of Asia are totally PG-13 and there is no
nudity anywhere on this site. If you have problems, please let me know
and let me know who you work for.

The Xbox and games will go out to our new friend Brice Mellen by Friday.
I want to thank Chris Morley, David Rockwell, Spadge Fromley,
ByteDownHard, Mark Dunn, Matthew Garcia, Tom Dzierzanowski and everyone
else who stepped up to help Brice out. I'll see if we can talk Brice
into sending us a picture with his new Xbox and games.

When it comes to shipping, I have experienced every possible shipping anomaly
one person probably could...or so I thought. A recent package shipment
compels me to give you this word of advice: If you are mailing a
Sony PSP (or similarly small electronic device) and your wrapping skills
are sucktacular (like mine) and the package is going to someone named
Mohammed...be prepared to have your package searched. PSP arrived fine
though, all is well that ends well.
