MaximumPC
Stuff -Steve
MaximumPC magazine has not
only a great magazine that both Asia and I are fans of, the gang over
there are top notch. You'll remember that Asia recently reviewed
Photoshop 7 for MaximumPC, well it seems that more than a few people
didn't realize it was THE Asia Carrera that wrote the
review. Pick yourself up a copy of the September issue of MaximumPC and
read this:

(hey...nice website on

Rotten Apple
-Steve
What do you do if you don't like Apple computers? Well, take one of
their top of the line PowerMacs, gut it and rebuild it with a bad ass PC
inside, refinish the outside, and there you have it...the Rotten
Apple!!!

08.27.02 -Steve
It is time to hook you guys up with some more of the baddest free stuff
on the planet. This time around we have seven ASUS 48x16x48 CDRW's up
for grabs, all you have to do is hit the link and submit your name...it
is that easy. I will be picking one winner a day at random for a week
until all the drives are gone.

Iguana
Update -Steve
Our big ol' five foot long iguana, Freddy, got lucky recently because my
wife works with animals ( in a veterinary clinic ) and got a nice 3 foot
long female iguana for free. Both have been raised alone in captivity so
we thought it would be nice to give both of them some company.

08.21.02 -Steve
I will kick off a new "One a Day for a Week" contest with 6
New ASUS 48x16x48 CDRW drives once I get all of my Nintendo winners
taken care of, so we are looking at this Friday at the earliest and
Monday at the latest. I need to pick up some sponsors for little stuff
like a few Power Supplies, Optical Drives ( DVD or CDRW ), Keyboard
Mice... I am also trying to work out a deal for free shipping with
either FedEx or UPS for the winners of contests. That would be hella
sweet. So that is what I am working on...
Medical
Stuff -Steve
Most of you know I am a manager at the International Airport ( our
company operates all the bars and restaurants in the airports around the
country ), and was hurt pretty
bad in March of 2001 when improperly
stacked steel beer kegs fell over on me while I was working.
Not a single day goes by that you guys don't ask how I am feeling or how
my back is doing. Well, my Doctor ordered a follow up MRI to see how I
am doing, and the condition of my back, here is a side by side
comparison between the original injury and now:

The best piece of advice I
can give you is this, NEVER get hurt at work. There you
have it....an update on how my back is .
Birthday
Today -Steve
That is right, today...August 15th...I turned 34. For one whole day, I
will be technically a year older than my wife. My wife
turns 34 on August 16th. Thanks to everyone who packed my mailbox with
hundreds of birthday well wishes, I love you guys too!!
Street Team

O.K. guys and gals, here is the interview we promised with Tanya Woo
from the Nintendo Street Team of Seattle. Read this lovely 23yr olds
interview, find out what it took to be on the Street Team and what Tanya
likes to do in her spare time. Great interview, with an AWESOME giveaway
as well. Thanks to the cooperation of Nintendo we are giving away 3
Nintendo GameCube packages and a handful of other Nintendo swag as well.
As always you can enter once a day, per e-mail address...so read the
interview and then enter for your chance to win.

Watercooled
Xbox -Steve
I had made the worlds first and only watercooled Xbox awhile back, but I
am planning an even wilder modification soon in the same vein as the
watercooled Xbox. Anyone care to take a guess?? C'mon...I'll hook you up
with something nice if you can be the first to guess what my next
watercooling project is going to be... in the meantime, look through the
World's First Watercooled Xbox
article for clues.

08.09.02 -Steve
Well, it was Asia's birthday on the 6th, now it is my turn to get
older....on the 15th I will turn 34, UGH. To be totally honest, turning
34 doesn't really even faze me...I feel as young as I ever have ( except
for my back injury keeping from doing stuff ), I'm just a big kid at
heart anyway. I suppose it might bug me to get older when I'm like, 40
or something, but for now...a birthday is just a birthday. Happy
Birthday to me...heh. I have my Nintendo Street Team stuff coming up the
first part of the week, you DO NOT want to miss out on that because we
will have Nintendo GameCube packages to give away along with our
interviews....plus, you should see some of these Nintendo girls...W W!!
08.06.02 -Steve
Happy Birthday to one of the best friends ever, Asia Carrera. The Goddess
of Geek turns 29 today,
and she is as beautiful as ever. Here is to many more years of friendship, and
a toast to staying 29 forever!! ( remember guys, this is the point
where women theoretically stop aging ;^). Happy Birthday Asia.
KGR 7 Winner
-Steve
Congrats goes out to the winner of our Killer Gaming Rig 7 contest,
Marshall P. from Des Moines Iowa, he'll be fragging away like mad by
this weekend on his new bad ass rig from Hypothermia. We will start the
Killer Gaming Rig #8 contest in the next few weeks since we have a ton
of stuff to giveaway in the meantime from cool people like Nintendo and
others.
08.03.02 -Steve
The Killer Gaming Rig #7 winner has been selected, and notified and we
anxiously await confirmation from the winner. Remember to keep entering
the contest until it is removed from the contest page in case we do not
get confirmation from the winner!! We will start our Nintendo Street
Team interviews and corresponding Giveaways this week as well, we have
complete Nintendo GameCube's to be given away with all three interviews.
Great fun...
Asia Update -Steve
Even though the always lovely Asia has been extremely busy on her end of
the rainbow, she always manages to take care of her fans at Hypothermia.
Asia sent me over a handful of different pictures she had from her
current projects, as well as a few that are just personal favorites of
mine like this angel picture.

...heh, tell me that picture
does not make you wish for her as your Guardian Angel or Life
Guard...wow.
