HardOCP forums, all the cool kids are doing it!!!
The way this works is fairly easy. . . I hold a contest where people submit questions for me to ask Asia Carrera, They have to be computer related in some way, I pick a couple winners and give away cool stuff from the best companies on the planet... This "Ask Asia" is sponsored by HardOCP, KickAssGear, ColdCPU and 3dfx. these companies are the ones that bust ass to make sure I get cool prizes to give away to you, the readers for participating in this. Having said that. . . let's hear what Asia has to say. * readers questions * Asia's Answers 1.)
question Submitted by "Anonymous because I'm Married" Have
you seen the game FAKK2: Heavy Metal being developed by Ritual Entertainment?
Julie Strain the Penthouse Pet of the Year is the lead character in the game.
Have you thought about lending your name and star power to a game? Mmmmm Julie Strain... she’s amazing! J Yes, I actually got to see the master artist himself (Julie’s husband, graphic artist Kevin Eastman) working on FAKK2 stuffs when I shot with Julie at her house one afternoon. I think Julie’s a complete goddess, and our names shouldn’t even be spoken in the same sentence, but if I ever got offered the chance to follow in her footsteps in some small way, you can bet I’d jump right on it!! Steve
(Hypothermia) and Levelord have some form of friendship-bodyguard relationship
going, have you thought of having Hypo getting you guys together for talks? Well,
I’m actually in talks with a gaming company right now, hashing out ideas with
their creative programming geeks for an action/adventure game featuring ME as a
central character!
I’m not at liberty to say which company it is right now, but they’ve
got a good history of making buttkicking games, so I’m excited about having
the opportunity to work with them.
They’ve
offered to let me have creative input from the ground up, but for now, I’d
rather just be allowed to watch them work, until I get a better understanding of
everything involved in the ‘behind the scenes’ of game-making.
I’ve seen many movie crews screaming in frustration at the outrageous
demands of naďve, overambitious first-time directors/producers who naively
expect to create a ‘definitive, cutting-edge work of cinematographic
genius’.
Rather than make a newbie blunder like that with the gaming gurus (hey,
if I piss them off right away by making stupid, impractical demands, the chances
of me getting a sequel are going to be pretty crappy, y’know?
Hehe!!), So I’ll just sit back and watch the experts do their thing for
now, and hopefully I’ll absorb some of their geekiness by osmosis… hehehe…
Once I’m a little better versed on the groundwork of game design,
I’ll feel more confident about putting in my two cents – and THAT’S when
I’ll make my stupid impractical demands!!!
LOL – just kidding!
J 2.) question Submitted by Edward Cabarles: It
seems to me that someone with your resources could head up her own company, with
the right backing. The talent is out there, a lot of people to choose from. . .
