The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) recently published a 145 page report stating the world loses out when the tech sector excludes women. Oddly enough, this report seems pretty hung up on the fact Alexa and Siri use female voices.
End the practice of making digital assistants female by default. Operating systems and apps routinely ask users to specify preferences during initialization processes, and this practice should be standard for voice assistants.
