Seriously? You "couldn't" leave Facebook? That is the weakest thing I have ever heard. 😔 If this person is your friend (or your friend says something like this), go give them a hug and hang out for a bit IRL.
I've never managed to leave Facebook of my own accord. My year off Facebook was kind of my choice, but was really because Facebook temporarily banned me until I agreed to stop impersonating a Pokemon. I experienced a severe bout of depression in the year I was off Facebook.
