The Smallest VR Gaming Rig: Intel’s Newest NUC

Intel NUCs are tiny but powerful mini-PCs. Their popularity has rapidly increased since Intel introduced them in 2012. People use the Intel NUC — an acronym for Next Unit of Computing, and pronounced like the first syllable in “knuckle” — in millions of systems worldwide from home entertainment to gaming to digital security to airport signs.

Introduced in January 2018, the Hades Canyon model is designed to support high-end virtual reality gaming and can power as many as six high-resolution 4K displays simultaneously. The large chip in the center is an 8th Generation Intel® Core™ i7 processor with Radeon™ RX Vega M graphics.
