Centenarian Tries Virtual Reality for the 1st Time

Lyle Becker has experienced many things in his 100 years. But it was only recently in an Intel virtual reality (VR) lab in Hillsboro, Oregon, that the centenarian tested out VR for the first time. His daughter, former Intel employee Patty Vice, called on a friend at the company and asked if her “techy” father could try it out and eventually purchase a headset. Among his experiences at the lab, Becker used his decades of flying experience to soar the skies in a single-engine plane using AeroFly’s VR flight simulation technology. “It feels like the real thing,” said, Becker, who flew Curtis C-46 Commandos during World War II.
