The NBA CreatIng Its Own Professional Videogame League

While I know games like Overwatch, Dota 2, League of Legends and CS:GO are popular eSports titles, I had no idea anyone even played basketball games competitively online.

Under the agreement, NBA franchises will be able to form and manage teams that will compete starting next year at Take-Two’s popular “NBA 2K” videogame, the businesses said. While professional sports teams and athletes have independently acquired or invested in so-called e-sports teams before, the new “NBA 2K eLeague” would be the first videogame league operated by a major U.S. sports league.
