Hypothermia Needs Your Help

After more than 17 years, my time at [H]ardOCP has come to an end. Without warning, I have been informed that the company is no longer able to pay me and I was let go. Since I am an independent contractor, there is no unemployment benefits, no retirement or anything like that at all. I am grateful for the time I had, the friends I made, and most of all, grateful for my brothers and sisters in the industry who have shared this awesome experience with me for almost two decades.

As most of you know, this couldn't have come at a worse time. My job was my family's sole source of income and our life savings were decimated after my wife had emergency surgery for a ruptured brain aneurysm just over a year ago. The medical bills from her hospital stay have been financially crushing to say the least.

So, I am reaching out to my friends, family, industry contacts and anyone that might know of a job opening or advertising opportunities for Hypothermia. I need to hit the ground running because the few weeks severance pay I was given isn't even enough to cover my current bills.

Hopefully all of you will come by to see me for your daily dose of tech news and reviews, much as you have done for years. With any luck and a few advertisers, my family can make it through this extremely difficult time and get back on our feet as soon as possible.

For those of you that have reached out to me wanting to help, I have set up a GoFundMe page for one time donations and a Patreon page as well. This will help pay the bills for the immediate future while I find employment and get Hypothermia back up and running.  After 20 years of raising money for others in need through fund raisers and donation drives, I am now the one in need of support.

Friends, relatives, advertisers and employers, please update your contact info to steve@hypothermia.us or hconsole@gmail.com as my old steve@hardocp e-mail address no longer works.
